Every year, we take the FitnessGram test at the end of January. This test is for all students in 3-5th grade, whether they take PE or Dance. This tests students over basic strength (push-ups and sit-ups), flexibility (arm stretch and trunk lift), and running stamina (Pacer Test). After Thanksgiving break, we will start to focus more on correcting our exercise form and building stamina in running. Then after Christmas break, we will do FitnessGram Boot Camp for all PE and Dance students for the month of January to get them prepared for the test. The test will be conducted the last week of January and first week of February. If your child comes home complaining, saying we are torturing them in PE and Dance classes, I promise we aren't! We're just getting them ready to do a GREAT job on their test!
